 -  reach Trivandrum, proceed to Hotel

6.00 am -  enter Sri Padmanabha Swami Temple
(Darsan Time : 4.15 am to 5.15 am,

                             6.30 am  to 7.15 am ,

                             8.20 am to 11.15am,

                           11.45 am to 12.30 pm.,

                             5.15 pm to 6.15 pm,

                             6.40 pm  to 7.30 pm.)

7.30 am -  come out of Sri Padmanabha Swami Temple
 proceed to Hotel for dress change ( wearSuitable dress for long journey)

8.15 am -  Breakfast

9.00 am  - To Zoo (open 9 am – 6.15 pm)

11.00 am -  out of Zoo,  start for Kanyakumari (87 Kms),  Lunch en-route

 

3.00 pm -  reach Vattakottai Fort  (place suitable for taking  photographs / video shooting)

 

4.30 pm proceed to Kanyakumari 

5.00 pm -   Reach Kanyakumari, check  in Hotel, Keep Luggage, exit without delay

 

6.30 pm -  to Beach side  for watching SUNSET;  after Sunset, do shopping and  back to hotel after  dinner (Night stay)

 

4.30 am - start for beach to see SUNRISE between 5.30 am  and 6.30 am and  after seeing sunrise, proceed  to Kanyakumari Devi  Temple for darshan (entry  for Hindus only). after coming out of temple have light breakfast  only, because  we are proceeding to boad journey in turbulant sea  after breakfast.

 

7.30 am -  to Swamy Vivekananda Rock  and  Thrivalluvar Statue by boat 

(Swamy Vivekananda rock was called as “Sripadaparai” in Puranic tradition. This rock was built in honour of Swamy Vivekananda and constructed in 1970. Swamy Vivekananda attained enlightenment while meditating on this rock in 1892. Vivekananda Rock has two major parts, one is Vivekananda Dhyana Mandapam and another one is Sripada Para. Sripada Para meaning is that the rock has been blessed by Kumari Amman. There is a projection in the rock similar to the form of human foot and little brownish in complexion).

 

(This trip is interesting for  History Buffs Nature Lovers, Experience Seekers  and Photo Fanatics. Please do not forget to note the two colours of sea when you look from the Vivekananda Rocks, which is the joining of bay of Bengal and the INdian Ocean. 

Entry Fee : Rs.30/-  per person for  ferry ride,  Rs. 10/-  per person as entry fee;  Entry Timings :  8:00 AM - 4:00 PM on all days of the week.   Visit Duration :  it will take 2 to 4 hours to coever the two rocks (depending on the rush of each day)

 

11.00 am -  back to mainland, proceed to beach side for visiting Our Lady of Ransom Church, Wax Museum in Bay Watch water theme park ( Entry Fee : Rs.50/-  per person for adults,  Rs. 40/- per person for children;

Timings : All days of the week except Sunday -8:00 AM - 6:30 PM;  Visit Duration :  1 to 2 hours.  The statues in the museum lacked perfection according to me).

 

1.00 pm lunch and proceed to hotel for rest.

 

5.00 pm start for beach to see sunset.

6.15 pm – 6.30 pm watch Sunset
6.30 pm exit beach, go to  Kanyakumari Devi Temple after  wet dress change
(The Kanyakumari temple remains open for public from 4.30 AM to 11.45 AM and 5.30 PM to 8.45 PM)

7.30 pm  - proceed for shopping

9.00 pm  - Dinner, back to room (Night Stay)

7.00 am -  vacate rooms, Breakfast,

8.00 am -  to Suchindram temple (Hanuman Temple) (14 Kms away)

9.00 am  - enter Suchindram Temple

10.00 am  - out of Suchindram Temple

10.30 am - have breakfast and  start for Padmanabhapuram Palace (35Kms to travel)
(Visiting hours: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on all days except Mondays)

11.30 am -  reach Padmanabhapuram Palace

 

12.30 pm - out of Padmanabhapuram Palace and proceed for lunch

1.30 pm Start for Kovalam (55 Kms away), Lunch en route

(SHORTEST ROUTE – Neyyattinkara > NH 47> Balaramapuram > (turn left ) > Balaramapuram Vizhinjam Road > Uchakkada Junction > turn right > Mullil Junction > straight > Mukkola Junction > Straight > Thennoorkonam Junction > turn right > Vizhinjam Junction > go straight in slight turn > Kovalam Junction > turn left > Kovalam Beach).

4.00 pm reach Kovalam,

5.00 pm start for Shanghumugham Beach
5.30 pm reach Shanghumugham Beach.

6.30 pm exit Shanghumugham Beach

 

7.00pm Reach Hotel in Trivandrum for overnight stay
